The Lance Mont Company's Drop Tester PDT series is the most accurate drop testing machine for testing the drop of products and packaged goods. In drop tests of packaged goods, it has been found that even a slight tilt of the dropped cargo can cause significant variations in the acceleration experienced by the contents. However, the Drop Tester PDT series employs a unique mechanism where the drop leaf (sample platform), indicated by a precise roller cam and guide, is first pulled straight down by compressed air with an acceleration greater than gravitational acceleration (1G), and then swings back. This allows for precise and reproducible drop tests without adding rotational moments or other factors to the initial setup of the sample. Additionally, by using corner and ridge holding fixtures, it is possible to accurately and reproducibly conduct drops from corners and ridges. A footswitch for efficient testing can be used in conjunction with a handheld controller, and a slot base option is available that allows for a minimum drop height of 2.5 cm.
